The Conservatory

Private singing lessons are available at The Conservatory in Augusta, Wisconsin, which has been offering music classes for over 130 years. In addition to faculty members at Augusta University, private lessons are offered by professional musicians in the community. Students who enroll in private lessons should contact the instructors in advance to schedule a make-up lesson. Lessons are scheduled once a week on a set day and time. Lessons must be cancelled 24 hours in advance. Make-ups are determined by the instructor and student, but the Conservatory Director has no role in the process.

The Conservatory offers private singing lessons to students of all ages. Students will study with faculty in various styles of singing, including a cappella, pop, and classical. Faculty members offer vocal lessons in music theory and technique, as well as techniques for improving tone and style. Students will also perform in music hours. The Conservatory’s voice studio

The Conservatory’s voice studio is situated in the heart of Augusta, Wisconsin, and is run by a highly experienced teacher, Amy Skouson. Her past vocal experience includes private study with Madison’s Genevieve Gersbach, and fifteen years of singing with the First Unitarian Society choir. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in humanities, as well as coursework in music. In addition, she has a Master of Science in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After being a professional singer for over 20 years, she realized she needed to further develop her vocal proficiency.
